Outdoor & Adventure
Athlete and outdoorsperson rooted in the Pacific Northwest. I move from experience, not a script.
Background
I grew up at the gateway to the Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood. Outdoor life was never a hobby. It was just how things were.
My father introduced me to the field, terrain, and the outdoors from a young age. Over the years I have built on that foundation through endurance running, alpine mountaineering, snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, and time on the water. I know how to read conditions, manage a group, and stay composed when things get hard.
At camp, I co-led mountain biking excursions for diverse groups of youth in Colorado's Rocky Mountains, which gave me a framework for translating personal competency into guided experiences for people of all skill levels. That is the work I find most meaningful.

Years of buying, repairing, and reselling outdoor and powersports equipment — dirt bikes, ATVs, kayaks, paddleboards, bikes. I know how gear works. Also built and converted a gas dirt bike into an electric — stripped the frame, modified and fitted components, and got it running. Motorcycle license endorsed.

Projects
A gym accessory that securely mounts phones and personal items directly on strength training equipment. Identified a problem, built a physical prototype, and validated it with OSU recreation facilities. An example of my desire to create solutions to problems I noticed in my environment.
Formulated an eco-friendly ski wax from animal fats and natural materials including bison tallow, goose fat, and beeswax blends with zero petroleum or paraffin. Developed from scratch through 50+ formula prototypes, with separate on-snow testing to evaluate glide performance and durability, and packaged in biodegradable materials.
Personal
A big part of my time outdoors is not attached to a goal or a summit. I do a lot of day hiking across the Pacific Northwest just for the enjoyment of it. Drawn to views, sunset light, quiet trails, and places that feel far from everything. I also spend a lot of time walking in nature with my dog, not always a destination, just moving through good terrain and taking it in.
This kind of low-stakes time outside is something I value and come back to consistently. It is where a lot of the connection to the outdoors actually lives for me.
